About Me

Hi, my name is Jill and I'm a 30-something wife and mama of two boys. I grew up in a small town in Virginia where we now raise our family. When I was in high school, I aspired to be a pediatrician and attend UVA, but life had other plans. I have now worked in the financial industry for 13 years.

In 2011, I re-connected with my now husband. We attended high school together, although we more acquaintances than friends. We developed a friendship, which lead to something more….obviously. In 2016 we married on a goat farm. It was the most magical night and I would relive that day a million times if I could.

We now have two amazing sons- Ezra (3) and Oliver (5mos.) Being a mother has been one of the most rewarding and challenging jobs of my life. It’s a full-time job and when you already have one of those, you need lots of coffee! Nothing I read, or heard, could have prepared me for how ‘full on’ motherhood is. I can hardly remember what life was like. I’ve navigated everything from breastfeeding to different sleeping techniques to being a working mom. To every mom out there—RESPECT. I bow down to you. This gig is hard. Like, really hard. But, coming home at the end of the day to my sweet boys makes all the sleepless nights and exhausting days worth it.

One thing that motherhood shouldn’t do is become your identity, but rather part of It. You are a mother. You are a wife. But, you are also you. Take time to yourself when you can. Mom guilt is real! I feel it every time I leave the house without them, send them to daycare on a day I’m off, and if I’m being honest, I even feel it while I’m trying to p00 and the baby is crying in the other room.

As a mama, I have experienced every emotion: guilt, anxiety, exhaustion, fear, affection, stress, happiness, and the best, love. Motherhood doesn't come with a manual. You learn from experience, failures, and successes. I created this blog because I want you to know you’re not alone. Sometimes life sucks and that’s okay. We try again tomorrow. You don’t have to be a mama to join in either! I have a ton of great/hilarious stories, recipes, products, hacks, and recommendations to share. I’m honest and, let’s face it, a mess. But, I hope you’ll stay a little while and enjoy in smiles, maybe a little tears, and definitely some laughs!

XO, Jill
